Thomas Starks began writing poetry as soon as he could pick up a pencil at about age 6. Born overseas in the Far East as a result of being a military brat, his family transferred shortly thereafter to San Diego, Ca, the mythical West Coast. His father, a former military photojournalist, will be quick to point out that Thomas comes by his talent honestly. Thomas' great grandfather was a vaudevillian on the Mississippi River showboat and performed with such greats as "Kid Ory," "Jelly Roll" Martin, Buddy Christian and Tony Jackson. Also rumored in family discussions were performances with then unknowns, Louis Armstrong and child performer, Buster Keaton.

His grandfather never performed publically, but had mastered the acoustic guitar and played at many family functions. As an amateur poet, Thomas took ques, watched, read, and he listened to the broadcasts and newspaper articles his father produced. By the time Thomas reached adolescence, his father, now a single parent, moved the family to Fresno, CA. It was there, at the age of thirteen that Thomas picked up an old, beat-up Washburn guitar and sparked an imperative relationship with music and lyrics. Although he experimented with many instruments, the guitar became his instrument of choice-an inevitable partner. His passion for music ignited and at fifteen, he was sneaking out of his house at night, finding solace at the local music clubs in Fresno.

His passion lead to various garage bands, where he played rhythm guitar and vocals, and in time started writing his own songs. After several years of playing in a variety of bands, his experience finally gave him the necessary foundation for his songwriting "When I know that life has brought me to a point that mere words cannot describe, music brings me home."

Thomas has released "Burn The Attic", now on iTunes. "Burn The Attic" seeks to appreciate the history He has forged and share it on a deeper level. In the hallowed halls of Orbit Audio in historic Pioneer Square, Thomas and Producer Joe Reineke forged into the deep hours of the night to bring about a full array of sound and journey. You can find Thomas Starks on iTunes today!
