Artist Bio

Cory Garbutt, a.k.a. Alagory, age 25, was influenced by various sources of music starting at a very young age. He was first inspired by the simplistic electronic sounds of his favorite video games. From that he started to learn how beats and sounds make patterns and work together.

Alagory then decided to pursue music. He started out with a number of musical instruments such as the bass guitar, drums and bongos. With that he further progressed into spinning records, at age eleven, due to the influence of his cousin who is a Hip Hop artist and dj “DJ Pablo.” From that, Alagory moved to Kitchener and started playing Hip Hop . Seeing he had a fascination of speeding up the records he then moved into playing more Jungle/ Drum N Bass and Breaks.

At age 16, he was the youngest DJ playing as a resident at The Matrix Night Club. He then furthered on to playing other clubs and indoor/ outdoor events such as Shakedown Streets Annual Bob’s Birthday Bash, WEMF, Area 51, One Eyed Jacks, Frequency Nightclub’s resident DJ.
